Incorporating Island Puzzle Adventures: Navigating Thrilling Twists and Turns
What’s Been Playing On Our Minds This Week?
Welcome back to our weekly feature, where we share a little bit about the games that have been captivating our attention. We’re shifting our usual Friday slot to Saturday to give it some extra room to breathe. If you’re new here, you can catch up on our previous editions in our What We’ve Been Playing archive.
Isles of Sea and Sky, PC (Steam Deck)
For a few days, I ditched the outside world to hole up in a rural cottage with a warm blanket and a steady tea supply. My gaming companion of choice was the enchanting Isles of Sea and Sky, a puzzle game that’s been tantalizing my brain cells since its release. This enigmatic game is full of clever Sokoban-style block-pushing puzzles that might seem straightforward at first but gradually reveal themselves to be incredibly complex and challenging. The game’s atmosphere is equally captivating, with its retro isometric visuals and haunting music.
I’m only halfway through, but the more I play, the more I’m hooked. The game’s storyline is intriguing, with a protagonist trying to unravel the secrets of a mystical world, and I’m eager to see where it takes me.
A Little to the Left, Xbox Series X
Last weekend, I revisited A Little to the Left, a meditative puzzle game that’s all about tidying up. Yes, you read that right – sorting objects into their designated places. It sounds simple, but trust me, it’s more engaging than it seems. With its beautiful visuals and soothing soundtrack, it’s an excellent way to unwind after a long gaming session. And, as it’s available on Game Pass, you can give it a shot without breaking the bank.
Rush Rally 3, Nintendo Switch
After a night drive to a Dom Joly show, I found myself yearning for some classic rally racing. Luckily, Rush Rally 3, a charming indie title from Brownmonster, appeared on my Nintendo Switch. With its blocky graphics and addictive gameplay, it’s giving me a similar nostalgic experience to the old-school Sega Rally arcade game I used to play at the local climbing center. At just £11.99 (now discounted to £3.19 on the Nintendo eShop), it’s a must-have for any rally fan.
