Google Wallet to Support Hotel Room Keys Across Club Quarters Chain

Google Wallet is taking a significant step forward in the hospitality industry, as Club Quarters, a chain of hotels, is set to roll out support for digital room keys across all its properties. Club Quarters is upgrading its existing digital room key support, which was first introduced in 2017 through the Club Quarters app. With this new feature, guests will no longer need to download and use a separate app to access their room keys. Instead, they can simply add the key to their digital wallet on their Apple or Android device and receive it via email.

How Does it Work?

• Guests will receive their room key via email after checking in electronically.
• The key will be stored in their digital wallet, allowing them to access it without needing to open a dedicated app.
• Guests can simply tap their unlocked device on the door’s access panel to unlock their room.
• An advanced feature will even allow guests to unlock their door for a few hours even if their phone’s battery is dead.
