Silent Hill 2 Remake Wins Game of the Year at Horror Game Awards

What a night it was at the 2024 Horror Game Awards! The Silent Hill 2 Remake, developed by Konami, took home the top prize of Game of the Year, besting a slate of exceptional horror games. This highly-anticipated remake of the classic survival horror game did not go home empty-handed, winning three additional awards: Best Survival Horror, Best Soundtrack, and Best Performance for Luke Roberts’ mo-cap and voice work as James Sunderland.

The ceremony also saw Chilla’s Art take home the award for Best Indie Developer, Lethal Company win Best Multiplayer, and The Chinese Room’s Still Wakes the Deep win Best Indie Horror and Best Technical Achievement. Masahiro Ito, the creator of Pyramid Head, received a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.

What’s Next for Silent Hill 2 Remake?

Despite its award-winning success, Silent Hill 2 Remake players are still waiting for a fix for the game’s poor performance on PS5 Pro. While Bloober Team did deploy an update to address graphical glitches, the patch has only removed PSSR and failed to address the underlying issues. Fans are still eagerly awaiting a proper solution to the technical issues plaguing the game on the Pro console.
