Get Ready: Google’s Home Panel Now Reachable on More Devices and TV Sets Worldwide
Google TV’s Home Panel Rolls Out to More Devices
The latest news in the world of Google TV! After debutng on Google TV Streamer and later expanding to Chromecast, the Home Panel feature is now rolling out to Google TV sets from TCL, Hisense, and other brands.
What’s in the Home Panel?
The Home Panel on Google TV offers users the ability to control smart home devices, such as lights, fans, Nest Thermostat, and more. You’ll also get live views for Nest cameras, and notifications for the Nest Doorbell. While the functionality isn’t as strong as the standard Google Home app, it’s still very useful.
Who’s Got the Update?
The feature was rolled out to Chromecast with Google TV devices over a week ago, and since then, it’s also launched on other Google TV sets. We’ve seen reports of the feature on TCL sets, Hisense TVs, and even set-top boxes from Xiaomi!
How to Get the Update?
If you’re not seeing the feature yet, check the Quick Settings panel (usually accessible by long-pressing the home button), or try updating your Google TV Home and other apps from the Play Store. You might just need to restart your device to make the update take effect.
