Galaxy S25 Ultra Revolution: Is It Time to Abandon Outdated Specs for Good?

The S24 Ultra’s S-Pen: A Small Luxury but a Huge Sacrifice

On March 22, 2024, something surprising happened. I found myself laughing out loud, an experience I can’t explain, all thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing but admiration for the S24 Ultra – its reflective screen and aggressive design have won me over. What caught my attention was an interesting story that had me chuckling. But if things continue on this track, I won’t be laughing with joy in 2025.

Why’s that? It’s simple: the S25 Ultra’s battery. We already know that Samsung hasn’t changed its approach when it comes to the battery’s capacity. The latest rumors suggest that the S25 Ultra will have a rated capacity of 4,855mAh, identical to the S24 Ultra’s.

A Slimmer, Lighter S25 Ultra?

But wait! If Samsung is aiming for a thinner, more streamlined 2025 flagship, there might not have been enough room to fit a larger battery. Perhaps a clever design trickery might be at play. That’s what we’ve come to expect from Samsung. After all, a study conducted in a freezer demonstrated that the S24 Ultra’s battery dropped significantly when compared to the Honor Magic 6 Pro’s robust battery life.

In Comparison: Other Flagship Batteries

We also have the OnePlus 12, rumored to be featuring a massive 6,000mAh battery, an upgrade that’s simply phenomenal. Then there’s the Vivo Y300 Pro, a budget-friendly phone packed with a 6,500mAh battery and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. Not to forget Xiaomi’s plans for a 7,500 mAh battery with 100W fast charging capabilities!

What’s the Cure?

What does the future hold for Samsung, then? For now, I’m unironically advocating for the S-Pen to be replaced and the extra space utilized for a larger battery. No more charred, funky smell!

For me, a thinner S25 Ultra isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about having a device with a battery that truly rivals its competitors. Will this be the case with Samsung’s upcoming flagship? I remain skeptical, given that the company is yet to announce any major battery changes.
