Fixing the Pixel 8 Pro’s Broken Back Gesture Problem

Google Fixing Pixel 8 Pro Gesture Bug in Upcoming Update
A Bug Affects the Back Gesture on the Pixel 8 Pro
Some users of the Google Pixel 8 Pro have been experiencing issues with gestures since the Android 15 update. The good news is that Google has confirmed that a fix is on the way.
After receiving the Android 15 update, a portion of Pixel 8 Pro users discovered that the back gesture, which involves swiping your finger from the edge of the screen, was no longer working as expected. According to users, swiping from the right side of the screen works only about 1% of the time, making the device almost unusable.
A Fix is Coming, But No Timeline
The issue has been reported on Google’s official issue tracker, where a support note states that the bug will be fixed "in an upcoming release." Unfortunately, the note doesn’t provide any information on which update the fix will be included or when it will be rolled out.
Will the Fix Come with the February Security Patch?
Given that the Pixel 8 Pro is part of the group of devices receiving monthly updates since it’s in the second year of seven promised security updates, it’s likely that the fix will be included in the February security patch. This patch typically contains small updates aimed at resolving issues like the one mentioned.
