While receiving these summaries is optional, some users may still want to disable the feature altogether. The Solution: A Software Update

The update will arrive in the coming weeks, and it will include an icon at the beginning of summarized notifications to alert users that the text is generated by Apple Intelligence. However, it’s important to note that this update won’t completely eliminate fake news from reaching your iPhone screen.

The organization believes that generative AI services are still too immature to produce reliable information for the public. While it might have been better if Apple could have prevented false AI-generated summaries from reaching iPhone displays, the company is working on making it easier for users to know when a notification is from AI and may not be real news.
