Fixing Google Home and Nest Speaker Connection Issues with Basic Commands
Google Nest and Google Home Speakers: Users Report Issues with Basic Queries
Are you having trouble getting answers from your Google Nest or Google Home devices? You’re not alone. Over the past few days, many users have reported issues with basic queries not being answered by their devices.
The Issue: Simple Queries Not Working
The appeal of Google Assistant speakers and smart displays lies in their ability to provide quick answers to simple questions. However, it seems that many Google Home and Nest owners have recently experienced an issue where basic prompts, such as "What’s the weather?" or "What is the time?" are not being responded to. While the device may display lights and suggest it’s processing the command, it ultimately fails to provide an answer.
When Did the Issue Start?
Reports of the problem began surfacing on Google’s forums as early as December 30, with some users claiming the issue started a few days prior. Since then, more reports have emerged, and even Android Authority was able to replicate the issue.
affected Devices and Regions
The issue doesn’t seem to be limited to a specific group or region, as it has affected users across various regions and multiple devices, including Google Home, Nest Hub Max, Home Mini, Nest Audio, and Nest Hub.
