Faster Note-Taking with Google Keep: Speed Boost Coming Soon

Google Keep: New Audio Shortcut and Text Notes Options Possibly Coming Soon

TL;DR: Google Keep might get an Audio shortcut to quickly record notes, and a new setting to convert the FAB into a text notes-only option. Additionally, the app might receive visual changes, including a new refresh animation.

Google Keep, a popular note-taking app, is constantly evolving to become more user-friendly and efficient. Recently, some changes have been spotted in the app’s APK code, which might hint at upcoming features. Here are the details:

Audio Shortcut to Quickly Record Notes

The new Audio shortcut will allegedly allow you to start recording a note directly from the app’s home screen. This feature is expected to simplify the process of taking notes by voice, currently available through the Recording option in the Add menu.

Create Text Notes with a Single Tap

A new settings option will enable users to create text notes with a single tap, removing all other options from the FAB (Floating Action Button). This change is designed for users who primarily use Google Keep for text-based notes only.

Visual Changes

The app might receive a few visual updates, including a new refresh animation that displays different shapes when you swipe down on the home screen, and updated icons for search categories. These changes are not live in the current stable release of Google Keep but should arrive with a future update.
