Boost Your Music Streaming: Google Rolls Out Song Search Tile in Android’s Quick Settings

Google Introduces Song Search Quick Settings Tile for Android

Google is expanding the ways you can access its excellent Song Search feature on Android by introducing a new Quick Settings (QS) Tile.

A New Way to Access Song Search

The latest version 15.39 of the Google app, currently in beta, features a simple music note icon for the QS Tile. Tapping on it launches the full-screen globe effect, similar to what you’d experience when searching for songs within the Google app.

Benefits of the QS Tile

  • Quick access: With the QS Tile, you can quickly access Song Search without having to open the Google app or use voice commands.
  • Convenience: The Tile is designed to be easily accessible from the Quick Settings panel, making it a convenient option for music lovers.

Other Ways to Access Song Search

There are several other ways to access Song Search, including:

  • Widget shortcut: You can place a widget on your homescreen that allows you to quickly access Song Search.
  • Search bar icon: Tapping the voice mic icon in the Search bar and selecting “Search a song” can also launch Song Search.
  • Google Assistant/Gemini: You can use Google Assistant or Gemini to search for songs.
  • Circle to Search: This feature allows you to search for songs by drawing a circle around the song title or lyrics.
  • Shazam: Shazam offers a similar feature, while Apple’s app recently introduced the ability to long-press its Tile to quickly access your history.

How to Add the QS Tile

To add the Song Search QS Tile to your Pixel device, follow these steps:

  1. Fully open Quick Settings.
  2. Tap the pencil icon.
  3. Scroll down to the very last section and drag to where you want it.
