Google Investigates Android Auto Issues and Confirms Fix for 5GHz Wi-Fi Issues
Google is actively investigating ongoing issues with the Pixel 9 series and Android Auto, along with confirming a fix for the 5GHz Wi-Fi issues that have been plaguing users for a while.
Ongoing Android Auto Issues
Android Auto issues are regular occurrences, and it’s no surprise that we’re seeing new updates and fixes popping up on a regular basis. Google is actively addressing and investigating some known issues to provide a smoother experience for users.
5GHz Wi-Fi Fix
The recent Android Auto 13.3 update, which has been rolling out widely in recent weeks, has a fix for an issue that was causing devices to be told they couldn’t use Android Auto due to a lack of 5GHz Wi-Fi support. This issue was a common problem, with users receiving a notification stating that their phone didn’t support 5GHz Wi-Fi connections. Although 5GHz Wi-Fi is required for wireless connections, it’s not necessary for wired connections. This issue was trending on Google’s forums for weeks, affecting a large number of users.
Ongoing Investigations
Google is also investigating other ongoing issues, including:
- Screen freezes on Xiaomi devices
- No audio on some devices
- Two issues related to the Pixel 9 series:
- Call audio not coming through properly on Android Auto
- Android Auto disconnecting for some users
While there’s no fix available yet, Google is aware of these issues and is working to resolve them.
