Bendable 5K2K OLED Bliss: LG’s Revolutionary 2025 Gaming Monitor Lineup
LG Unveils its 2025 Lineup of Gaming Monitors, Kicking Off CES 2025
As the countdown begins to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, LG has revealed its new lineup of gaming monitors, and it’s off to a remarkable start. The company is showcasing three impressive monitors that promise to up the ante in the world of gaming and beyond.
The UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor: A Game-Changer
Leading the charge is the UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor, which boasts the distinction of being the world’s first 5K2K-resolution, bendable OLED display. This 45-inch wonder offers an expansive resolution of 5120×2160, providing a much wider canvas to game on than a standard 4K screen. The 21:9 aspect ratio of this display is also designed to deliver a more immersive gaming experience, while maintaining better content compatibility than 32:9 monitors.
A Twist of Curvature
The UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (Model 45GX990A) can transition from a completely flat surface to a 900R curvature, and LG’s latest Dual-Mode feature enables users to effortlessly switch between resolution and refresh rate presets, as well as customize the aspect ratio and picture size. The monitor is certified for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, but the press materials don’t specify a maximum refresh rate. We’ve asked for more details on that.
The Non-Bendable Option: 45GX950A
Not to be outdone, LG is also releasing a non-bendable model with a permanent 800R curve. This 45-inch monitor boasts the same sized screen, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 5K2K resolution as its bendable counterpart. Shared specs between the two models include a 0.03ms (GtG) response time and support for DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. The RGWB subpixel layout on the 45GX950A is designed to enhance readability, making it easier to tackle productivity work on the go.
Introducing the UltraGear 39GX90SA: A WebOS-Powered "Home Entertainment Hub"
LG is also unleashing the curved UltraGear 39GX90SA, a webOS-powered "home entertainment hub" with easy access to streaming services – a clear nod to the company’s TV offerings. This 39-inch monitor retains the 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curve, and features USB Type-C ports for convenient connectivity, as well as LG’s ergonomic and space-saving L-shaped stand for a clutter-free desk setup.
Pricing and Availability
As with all CES announcements, pricing and availability will be revealed at a later date in 2025. We’ll be on the ground at CES 2025, so stay tuned for our first impressions of the UltraGear GX9 series and the many other stunning screens on display.
