Apple Must Elevate iPhone USB-C Standards: Jarring Poll Results Revealed
Has the iPhone Done a Better Job with USB-C than Android?
As a tech enthusiast, you might be thinking that USB-C is the way to go. Who wouldn’t love a reversible, elegant, and widespread connector? It’s easy to forget that USB-C is more than just a physical connection. There are a lot of differences in the features it supports, not just across manufacturers but even within the same hardware families.
Take Apple’s iPhone 15 and 16 series, for example. The lower-model phones are stuck with USB 2.0, while the Pro editions get USB 3.1 Gen 2×1 and lightning-fast 10Gbps performance. That’s an order of magnitude improvement, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at the USB-C port alone. And that’s not even addressing different levels of charging support.
As a relatively new player in the USB-C game, can we expect more from Apple? Should we compare one manufacturer to the other, or is it unfair to compare Android to the iPhone’s user experience? It’s a more complicated question than that simple-looking connector might suggest.
The Results Are In: Has Apple Done a Better Job with USB-C than Android?
When we asked our readers, we found that hardly anyone thinks Apple is doing a better job with USB-C. Some of you think Apple’s vast resources and reputation for delivering user-friendly experiences mean it’s setting the standard. Others are uninterested in measuring how fast their phones charge or transfer files – as long as it works, it’s good enough.
So, what do you think? Should Apple impress us with its USB-C implementation on the iPhone 17 family?
