Amazon’s Video Game TV Show: Concord’s Continued Involvement Despite Shutdown
It’s safe to say that Concord was a massive misfire in the gaming world, shutting down after a mere two weeks of existence. But despite its quick demise, it looks like the game will get a second chance of sorts in Prime Video’s upcoming anthology series, Secret Level, which drops on December 10.
As part of the show, Concord will get its own side story, joining other franchises like God of War, The Outer Worlds 2, and Warhammer 40K. Apparently, the game was announced as one of the 15 franchises involved back in August during Gamescom, and sources close to IGN say that Concord will remain a part of the project.
Secret Level will also feature fresh stories in franchises that haven’t seen a new entry in a while, like Mega Man and Unreal Tournament. The trailer hinted that Keanu Reeves might make an appearance in the Armored Core episode, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet. It’s worth noting that the John Wick star was recently announced as the voice of Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
As for Concord’s future, it’s still up in the air. One of the game’s developers admitted that “none of us know what’s next” after the game’s shutdown on September 6. Before that, reports suggested that players were deliberately killing themselves in the game to try and earn the platinum trophy before it was too late.
