Thin Is In: The Nodus Sector II Pilot’s Sleek New Case
The latest iteration of Nodus’s Sector Pilot watch is a masterclass in streamlining. By reengineering the case, the brand has managed to shave off nearly a full millimeter of thickness, a feat that’s music to the ears of watch enthusiasts. This slimmer profile has been achieved through a combination of clever design tweaks, including the elimination of the curve on the previous generation’s lugs and the redesign of the end links on the bracelet.
A Slimmer Case, a Thinner Watch
The result of these reconfigurations is a case that measures just 11.7mm thick, yet still boasts a 100m water-resistance rating. What’s more, Nodus claims that the Sector II Pilot is one of the thinnest watches to ever house a Seiko NH automatic movement. In this case, that movement is the Cal. NH36, which has been regulated by Nodus to run within 10 seconds per day.
A Closer Look at the Case Profile
The new case profile is characterized by a sleek, box-shaped sapphire crystal that allows the hands to sit closer to the glass. This design decision has created more room in the case for the movement, giving the watch a more streamlined appearance. The Nodex Clasp: A Feather in Nodus’s Cap
The Sector II Pilot comes equipped with Nodus’s proprietary five-link Pentalink bracelet, complete with quick-release spring bars and the brand’s innovative Nodex clasp. This modular toolless micro-adjustment system has become one of Nodus’s calling cards, and it’s now licensed out to other brands like Farer, Astor + Banks, Raven, Sangin Instruments, and more.
