Acer Unleashes a Flood of New Products at IFA 2024, Including AI-Powered Laptops, Gaming Laptops, and a Gaming Handheld!
The company has whipped up a storm at this year’s IFA by introducing a slew of fresh products, including some stunning AI-powered laptops, a gaming laptop, a gaming PC, and – dare I say it? – a brand-new gaming handheld!
First off, the non-gaming Swift AI laptops. There are two main models to look forward to: the 14-inch Intel-powered Swift AI, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) CPU, a 2K OLED display, and a beefy NPU capable of up to 48 TOPS. The 16-inch variant boasts a Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) CPU, a 3K OLED display, and the same NPU prowess. And, according to Acer, you can expect up to 29 hours of video playback on the Swift 14 AI! Pricing kicks off at $1,199.99 / AU$1,899 for the 14-inch, and $1,199.99 / AU$1,999 for the 16-inch, with the former launching in September 2024 and the latter in October 2024 and Q1 2025, respectively.
But wait, there’s more! We’ve also got two more Swift models on the way: the Swift 14 AI, powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU, which packs up to 50 TOPS, and the Swift Go 14 AI, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus CPU and up to 45 TOPS. The former will launch in September 2024, starting at $999, and Q4 starting at AU$1,399. The Swift 14 AI will also launch in September 2024, starting at $1,999, and in Q4 2024 at AU$2,799.
Both Swift laptops will come equipped with touchpads that display an AI Activity Indicator, showing when the NPU is in use and if Copilot is active, as well as a 1440p QHD IR webcam. What’s more, the entire Swift line will get a free Copilot+ upgrade later in 2024, along with Acer-designed AI apps.
Now, let’s talk gaming!
The Predator Orion 7000 desktop is clearly aimed at high-end gaming, with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, AI-powered DLSS, fan and liquid cooling systems… and no pricing or release info yet, sadly!
We’ve also got Nitro V 14 and Nitro V 16 gaming laptops. The 14-inch model comes with two display options – a WQXGA or WUXGA – AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU, up to an Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. The 16-inch variant features up to an Intel Core i7-14650HX CPU, up to an Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, a WQXGA display, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. The Nitro V 14 launches in September 2024 for $1,099 / AU$2,099, while the Nitro V 16 launches in October 2024 starting at $1,299.99 / AU$2,299.
And then, there’s the icing on the cake – the Acer Nitro Blaze 7, the company’s first-ever gaming handheld PC! This beast boasts an AMD Ryzen 8040 Series CPU with up to 39 total AI TOPS, an AMD Radeon 780M GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. The display? A full HD IP touch panel with an impressive 144 Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync compatibility… and Windows 11, which has received mixed reviews so far. No pricing or launch window info just yet, but stay tuned!
