Galaxy S24 FE support page goes up on Samsung France, launch should be close

Back in April, UK carrier EE listed a “Samsung Galaxy S24 FE” with a model number SM-S721U. Now Samsung France has a support page for an SM-S721B, so the new FE is definitely on the way. Normally, “U” is for the US, while “B” is for European units (including the ones sold in the UK), so the EE listing was probably a mistake.

Anyway, we’ve also seen the SM-S721B model number in a Geekbench test, which revealed that the phone uses an Exynos 2400 with 8GB of RAM. This is the same chipset that is found inside European (and other) Galaxy S24 and S24+ units.

Last year’s Galaxy S23 FE used chipsets that were a generation behind the main S23 series – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (and Exynos 2100) vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, the S21 FE and S20 FE used the same generation of chips as the main series, so this is a return to form.

The phone mentioned in the Samsung France support page is specifically the SM-S721B/DS, i.e. the dual-SIM version. This means a slot for two SIM cards, but it should also have an eSIM too.

From another leak, we know that the Galaxy S24 FE will use the same 50MP 1/1.57” camera as the S24 and S24+, the other two cameras might be the same too. It is expected to come in six colorways: Mint, Cream, Purple, Indigo, Graphite and Tangerine.

The scheduling for the Galaxy S24 FE announcement is unknown – early indications were for a late 2024 announcement, but some sources claim it will happen in early 2025. For what it’s worth, the S23 FE was announced on October 5 2023. And with the support page going live, we think it’s coming sooner rather than later.
