Hoka Just Turned Its Best Daily Sneaker Into a Rugged Fall Boot
When Hoka first released the Transport in 2023, it filled a void in its expansive catalog. Instead of taking a silhouette designed for running or hiking, equipping it with premium fabrics and calling it a “lifestyle shoe,” the brand designed a true everyday sneaker from the ground up.
Made with commuters in mind, the Transport featured sustainable EVA midsole for balanced cushioning, abrasion-resistant Cordura upper and quick-toggle laces for a seamless on and off.
The result was an everyday sneaker that looked good around the city but wasn’t averse to traversing off the beaten path. And it worked really, really well.
Now Hoka looks to be doubling down on that premise with the new Transport Chukka GTX, which takes everything that excelled on the original Transport and makes it even more suitable for fall and winter weather.

“City or trail, rain or shine.” That’s the pitch on Hoka’s new Transport Chukka GTX, which converts the original Transport into a mid-height chukka boot with an engineered knit collar.
Like the shoe version, it features a bio-based EVA midsole crafted with highly sustainable sugarcane. That gives it both responsiveness and cushioning, resulting in a balanced feeling underfoot that also offers some durability for multi-season wear.
