Amazon Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TV Review: Two Minute Review

In a crowded mini-LED TV market, Amazon’s Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TV tries to stand out against the likes of Samsung, Hisense, TCL, and Roku. While it may not impress with its exceptional picture quality or innovative features, it offers a solid all-around TV experience for its price.

Picture Quality

The Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TV’s picture quality is generally good, with vibrant colors, lifelike textures, and well-balanced contrast. However, it struggles with crushed black levels in some picture modes, which can result in a loss of shadow detail.

Audio Quality

Audio quality is a mixed bag on this TV. The sound is accurately placed with a good sense of direction, speech is clear, and there’s generally good bass. However, the soundstage feels narrow and contained, especially with Dolby Atmos effects.

Gaming Features

The Omni Mini-LED TV has a good selection of gaming features, including 4K at 144Hz, Dolby Vision gaming, VRR (AMD FreeSync Premium Pro included), and ALLM support. Performance is smooth, making it a decent mid-range alternative, although it may not match the best gaming TVs from LG and Samsung.

Smart TV

Amazon’s Fire TV platform is decent, offering a good range of picture settings for those who like to experiment. However, it can feel cluttered, and there may be occasional stuttering issues.

Prices & Release Date

The Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TV’s price is comparable to its competitors, starting at around $699 for a 55-inch model. The TV is expected to be available on Prime Day and Black Friday with discounts already appearing.

How I Tested the Amazon Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TV

To test this TV, I used a variety of reference scenes from SDR and HDR sources, measuring color accuracy, grayscale accuracy, HDR color gamut coverage, and input lag.

Measurements

To carry out my objective testing, I took measurements using a colorimeter, test pattern generator, and Portrait Displays’ Calman color calibration software.
