Warner Bros. Cuts Cartoon Network Games: Half-Dozen Titles Vanish from Digital Stores

Cartoon Network Quietly Removes Six Games from Steam and Other Digital Platforms

In a move that has caught many off guard, Cartoon Network, a division of Warner Bros. Discovery, has quietly removed six games from sale on Steam and other digital platforms. The affected titles include Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, OK KO! Let’s Play Heroes, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, Steven Universe: Save the Light, Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest, and Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games.

As reported by Wario64 on Bluesky, the delistings occurred in a single batch earlier today. The removed titles were initially found on various digital storefronts, including Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. As of now, all of these games have been rebranded with a standard "Attention players, [game title] will no longer be available for sale after [date]. Thanks for playing, Cartoon Network Games." warning on their respective store pages.

Interestingly, Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games and Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest, both published by Little Orbit, were also yanked from sale. This is not the first time we’ve seen a group of games removed from circulation by their publishers. In recent years, Warner Bros. has faced criticisms for shuttering various properties, including the closure of its own game development studio, Cartoon Games, and the withdrawal of several Adult Swim-published titles from sale.

The removal of these games raises questions about the future of these IP and their potential return in some capacity. While we’ve enjoyed certain aspects of these games, their loss is a reminder of the ephemeral nature of digital games and the ever-shifting landscape of the game industry.
