Breakthrough Mobile Game ‘Once Human’ Smashes Pre-Registrations with 26 Million as April Release Date Confirmed
Once Human: A Mobile Release Date and New Features Unveiled
Get ready to stomach the terror once again, as NetEase’s PvPvE sandbox action horror, Once Human, is finally coming to mobile devices in April 2025. The game, which started testing its mobile port back in September, has revealed new features and content that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
New Features and Scenarios Unveiled
During a recent livestream, NetEase revealed what Meta-Humans can expect when the mobile version launches. The game will include three new scenarios: Code: Purification, Code: Deviation, and Code: Broken. Code: Broken is a 10-day PvP scenario, while the first two are PvE. You’ll also get to experience the all-new Visional Wheel, which introduces new weapons, powers, and rules, making enemies stronger and affecting player sanity.
Additional Features and Events
In 2025, you’ll also experience a holiday event running across Christmas and the new year. And, if you’re interested, head over to the official website to pre-register your interest now. As of now, over 26 million Meta-Humans have signed up, unlocking a range of free gifts, including cosmetics, skins, decorative items, and crafting resources.
Console Release and Cross-Platform Support
Once Human is expected to come to console with cross-platform support, but no release date has been confirmed yet. Sorry to keep you waiting!
A Sneak Peek from Our Review
I gave Once Human a modest three out of five stars when I reviewed it, saying it offers a deeply moreish open world scavenge-em-up, but weak action and generic clutter hold it back. Since launch, NetEase has ramped up its premium in-game offerings, including cosmetic loot crates.
Surviving the Horror
As the game’s developer puts it, the feedback it’s received about the game’s second season has been "quite demoralising". Whether or not that will impact the game’s future, one thing is certain – Once Human will continue to keep you on the edge of your seat with its intense action and terrifying atmosphere.
