Google Nest’s smart home privacy commitment details how its device collects data and what Google does with it. The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th-gen) has four sensors: a Soli sensor for motion, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, and an ambient light sensor. To use the Nest Learning Thermostat, you must agree to:
- Google Terms of Service
- Google Privacy Policy (included in ToS)

- To use features like home/away assist with your phone, you must also agree to give your phone’s location to the Google Home app.
