With these festive sounds, you can make your calls even more joyful and memorable. 🎁
Temporary Replacements for Christmas and New Year’s
In addition to the new audio emojis, the Pixel Phone app is also getting a temporary makeover for the holiday season. The Christmas Tree audio emoji is replacing the Party Popper, while the crying face audio emoji has been temporarily replaced by a Fireworks audio emoji, complete with a rocket blasting off! 🎇🎊
Video Call Icon Relocation
As if the new audio emojis weren’t enough, the Pixel Phone app is also getting a convenient makeover for video calls. You’ll now find the video call icon in the top-right corner of the display, making it easier to join a call with your friends and family. 📱
Stretching the Limits of the Pixel Phone App
To check what version of the Pixel Phone app you’re running, head to Settings > Apps > See all [X] apps, and scroll down to the Pixel Phone app. From there, find the version number at the bottom of the page. For instance, my Pixel 6 Pro is running Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1, which means I’m currently on version 155, and I’m still waiting for the new holiday audio emojis and video call icon. 🕰️
Compatibility Matters
Keep in mind that the audio emojis will only work if both you and the person on the other end of the call have compatible Pixel models, such as the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and later Pixel handsets. 📱
