As you can see, the new design feature is more noticeable on Android devices with taller gesture areas, but it’s just as effective on iOS. The frosted glass effect is particularly striking when the dark theme is enabled, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic.
What You Need to Know
YouTube’s translucent bottom bar update is rolling out as a server-side update with the following versions:
- Android: 19.47
- iOS: 19.49
If you’re on desktop, you’ll also notice that the top bar is getting a similar blurred effect. This redesign is part of a series of mobile design updates, including the miniplayer revamp, reorganized Settings page, and new playback speed controls.
