How It Works

The solar paint is incredibly thin, measuring only slightly thicker than a human hair. Despite its thinness, the paint is packed with energy-producing photovoltaic cells. According to Mercedes-Benz, covering a mid-size SUV with the paint could generate enough energy for up to 7,456 miles per year under ideal conditions. However, the energy yield will vary depending on the location’s sunlight hours.
