Unlock the Secrets of Indiana Jones: Why the Game’s Early Access Period Falls Short of Ambitious Graphics
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: When to Expect Full Ray Tracing
Early Access and the Wait for Full Ray Tracing
If you paid the premium to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle early on PC, you may be disappointed to find that the game won’t initially include full ray tracing. The game’s early access period for Premium Edition and Collector’s Edition buyers has just launched, but you’ll have to wait until December 9th, when the game is available to everyone else, to enjoy the full range of ray tracing features.
What Can You Expect from Full Ray Tracing?
According to Nvidia, once the update is released, shadows, reflections, and global illumination will all be accurately rendered in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle using Full Ray Tracing, elevating the image quality. Additionally, DLSS Ray Reconstruction will be coming soon, promising improved ray tracing quality.
Early Access Costs
For early access buyers, the delayed addition of graphics options might come as a bitter pill to swallow, especially considering the premium price of the Premium Edition, which costs $99.99 – a $30 increase over the standard price.
Hefty PC Specs
As you may already know, the game requires some serious hardware to run, with GPU hardware ray tracing necessary even at the minimum specs. But, according to Jim Kjellin, CTO of MachineGames, this isn’t just about visual fidelity. The game uses global illumination to light the environment and characters, which relies on hardware raytracing for performance and high fidelity rendering.
