Boost Security with One UI 7’s Knox-Embedded Enhanced Protections

Samsung Knox One UI 7: Enhancing Security and Privacy in the Age of AI

The wait is finally over, and Samsung has officially released the One UI 7 beta, bringing with it a host of security and privacy enhancements. In an era where AI is increasingly accessible, Samsung knows that security threats are more pressing than ever. As such, the company is introducing a range of fortified security measures, exclusive to Samsung Galaxy devices.

The Knox Matrix: A Hub for Connected Devices

At the heart of One UI 7 is the Knox Matrix, a central hub that connects all your devices and protects them together. This dashboard provides a status indicator for each device, showing whether it’s secure or not. If a device is lost, users can transfer data directly to another device, giving them greater peace of mind.

Passkeys and Credential Sync

Samsung is also introducing passkeys via Knox Matrix, allowing users to log into their Samsung accounts across devices. This feature is part of the Knox Matrix Credential Sync system, which ensures seamless authentication.

Maximum Restrictions: Enhanced Security Settings

The Maximum Restrictions page in settings has been updated with new features to block certain networks. Users can now prevent data from being intercepted when connected to unsafe networks by blocking 2G connections. Additionally, unintended automatic Wi-Fi connections can be disabled.

Smart Biometric Authentication

One UI 7 also introduces smart biometric authentication, which requires users to authenticate using biometric data (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition) when their phone is in an unrecognized area. A 1-hour delay can be set to prevent unauthorized users from making changes to the device.

Rollout and Availability

The One UI 7 beta update will be rolled out to Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US starting today. These security changes will be reflected in the update.
