As the years went by, the company expanded its product line to include various types of knives. This led to a name change: Pacific Cutlery Corp. A Move to Oregon and a New Era

In 1987, a new chapter began when De Asis moved production to Clackamas, Oregon, and renamed the company Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. The brand continued to thrive, and in 1996, it expanded to a 144,000-square-foot facility in Oregon City, Oregon, where it remains today.

The Legacy of De Asis and the Future of Benchmade

Sadly, De Asis passed away in 2020, but his legacy lives on. In a nod to tradition, his son Jon was named president and CEO of Benchmade in the same year. This marked a new era for the company, with a fresh perspective and dedication to upholding the values of innovation and excellence.
