Formula 1’s Lando Norris Turns Heads with Custom 1973 Plymouth Barracuda

As the Formula 1 circus rolls into Texas for the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, the world’s most European series is in full-blown cowboy boots and cowboy hat mode – and the McLaren F1 team is no exception. To celebrate the occasion, the team has collaborated with eBay Motors to create an American muscle car like no other: a custom, papaya-hued, performance-first 1973 Plymouth Barracuda featuring none other than rising ace Lando Norris behind the wheel.

A Modern Twist on an Iconic Classic

Starting out as a near-stock ‘Cuda, McLaren’s collaboration with eBay Motors has extensive upgrades, including front and rear coilover suspension for improved handling, forged disc brakes all around, classic wood steering wheel, performance headers, and a revamped exhaust system. The exterior boasts the signature papaya hue, a nod to McLaren’s iconic colorway. With its original V8 powertrain still purring beneath the hood, this modified muscle car gives off a signature American hum, enhanced by the carefully crafted exhaust system.

A Garage Fit for Champions

For the duration of the Austin Grand Prix weekend, the eBay x McLaren Garage at COTA’s Fan Field will be transforming into a haven for fanatics. Get up close and personal with the specially designed Plymouth Barracuda, a true showstopping display of American steel and McLaren’s expertise.

Lando Norris at the Helm

As it stands, McLaren is putting together a stellar season with the team currently leading the Constructors’ Championship by an impressive 41 points, and Lando Norris comfortably sitting in second place just 52 points behind world champion Max Verstappen. With six races on the calendar, including both the United States and United States GP in Las Vegas, there’s still an opportunity for Norris to secure the title.
