Sea of Thieves Season 14: Stealthy New Additions and Grappling Guns

A Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Season

Get ready to set sail for a season of stealth and strategy in Sea of Thieves! Rare has confirmed that Season 14 will drop on October 17th, bringing with it a host of new features that will challenge and delight pirates of all skill levels.

New Stealthy Features

As announced in March, Season 14 is all about introducing a stealthier, more mischievous style of play to Sea of Thieves. Here are some of the new additions you can expect:

* Crouch ability: Move undetected by crouching low to the ground
* Hang off ship sides: Slink around the side of ships without being seen
* Stuff yourself into chests: Hide from enemy eyes by squeezing into chests
* New multi-purpose blow dart: Lure skeletons, trigger sound effects, and more
* Spring traps: Place traps in the world to catch unwary enemies
* Grappling gun: Whizz about the place or reel in loot with this new tool

Grappling Gun Limitations

While the grappling gun is a powerful new tool, Rare has implemented some limitations to ensure fair play for smaller crews. For example, you won’t be able to use it to bypass sideladders and gain easy entry to larger ships. However, you can still use it to reach sideladders and reposition alongside ships during a chase.

New Combat Tweak

In Season 14, a ship’s armoury can only be used by its own crew. This means invading crews will need to plan their attacks carefully before heading into combat.

New Items for Outposts

Get ready to spend your hard-earned gold on some stylish new items at Outposts, including wrap-style shirts, the Lucky Hand ship set and weapons, and Rusted Skulls clothing, makeup, accessories, and tattoos.

Gilded Voyages and Twitch Drops

Before Season 14 launches on October 17th, Sea of Thieves will host a Gilded Voyages event from October 10th to 17th, giving players the chance to score valuable loot for the Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, and Athena’s Fortune. Additionally, a weekend of Twitch Drops is scheduled from October 17th to 21st, with the Season Sailor Pistols, Sage Sea Dog Shovel, and Drum all up for grabs.
