Google Adds Song Search QS Tile to Android Devices

A New Way to Search Songs on Your Android Device

In a move to provide even more convenience to Android users, Google has recently rolled out a new Song Search Quick Settings (QS) Tile. This addition comes as part of version 15.39 of the Google app, and is now available on all Android devices via the stable channel.

By adding this QS Tile, users can quickly access Song Search from their device’s QS panel. This can be especially useful for users who frequently search for songs online. To access this new feature, simply follow these steps:

• Fully expand the QS panel.
• Tap the pencil icon.
• Scroll down to the very last section and drag to the desired location.

As you can see from the images below, the new QS Tile features a simple music note icon, and tapping it will launch the full-screen globe effect, which was introduced earlier this year. A Google Search results page will then load once a match is found.

Other ways to access Song Search include:

• Using the widget shortcut that can be placed on your homescreen.
• Tapping the voice mic icon in the Search bar > Search a song.
• Using Google Assistant or Gemini.
• Long-pressing the Shazam Tile to quickly access your history.

The new Song Search QS Tile joins the multitude of ways to access Song Search on your Android device, providing an added layer of convenience and ease of use. The Song Search Quick Settings Tile is now rolling out to all Android devices via the stable channel, so it shouldn’t be long before it hits your device as well.

Shazam, which offers a similar feature, recently introduced the ability to long-press its Tile to quickly access your history.
