Blasting Sound on a Budget: Affordable Dolby Atmos Soundbar Review

Majority Elias Review: A Budget Soundbar That Falls Short

At first glance, the Majority Elias seems like a great option for those seeking a budget-friendly soundbar with Dolby Atmos capabilities. After all, it’s one of the few soundbars on the market that can deliver upfiring speakers at an affordable price. However, as I put the Majority Elias to the test, I was disappointed to find that it failed to impress in several areas.

Easy Setup and Design

One of the few positives about the Majority Elias is its ease of setup. You can hook it up to your TV via HDMI and power cable, making it a hassle-free experience. The design is also a highlight, with a classy wraparound speaker and a sleek look that belies its budget price tag.

Audiophile Disappointment

Unfortunately, the Majority Elias’s audio quality is a different story. While it does offer an upgrade in several areas over typical TV audio, it falls short in terms of overall sound quality. The inclusion of upfiring speakers does add some depth and height to the soundstage, but it’s not enough to make up for the lack of bass and the somewhat tinny highs.

Testing the Majority Elias

I tested the Majority Elias at home over the course of two weeks, connecting it to my Hisense U7K TV via HDMI ARC. I primarily used the soundbar for watching TV shows and movies, as well as playing video games on the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles. I also listened to music from Spotify on my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 via Bluetooth.

Key Features

Here are some key features of the Majority Elias:

  • 2.1.2 channel sound system
  • Dolby Atmos support
  • HDMI ARC connectivity
  • Bluetooth 5.3
  • USB and AUX inputs

Comparison to Other Options

If you’re looking for a budget soundbar with Dolby Atmos support, there are other options available that may be worth considering. For example, the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar and the Ultimea Poseidon D50 both offer similar features at a similar price point. However, the Majority Elias’s lack of bass and somewhat tinny highs make it a less appealing option.

Buy It If…

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly soundbar with Dolby Atmos support and don’t mind sacrificing some audio quality, the Majority Elias might be worth considering. It’s a great option for those who want to improve their TV’s audio without breaking the bank.

Don’t Buy It If…

On the other hand, if you’re an audiophile or someone who values high-quality audio, you may want to look elsewhere. The Majority Elias’s lack of bass and somewhat tinny highs make it a less appealing option for those who care about sound quality.

Also Consider…

Here are some other options you might want to consider if you’re in the market for a budget soundbar with Dolby Atmos support:

  • Amazon Fire TV Soundbar: A similar option with a slightly more robust sound system and additional features like Alexa integration.
  • Ultimea Poseidon D50: A more expensive option with a 5.1 channel sound system and additional features like a subwoofer and rear speakers.

Ultimately, the Majority Elias is a budget soundbar that falls short in terms of audio quality. While it’s a great option for those who want to improve their TV’s audio without breaking the bank, it’s not the best choice for those who value high-quality sound.
