Upgrade to Excellence: Benchmade’s Best-Selling Knife Redefined with Premium Performance
Benchmade Bugout Burnt Brass Aluminum: A Cut Above the Rest
The new Benchmade Bugout Burnt Brass Aluminum is set to drop early next week, and it’s got us excited. While it shares many similarities with the original Bugout, there are some notable differences that set it apart.
A Familiar Design with Some Tweaks
The new knife still boasts the same blade length and thickness (3.24 inches and 0.08 inches, respectively), as well as the same open and closed lengths (7.46 inches and 4.22 inches). The blade style remains a drop point, and the AXIS Lock deployment mechanism is still ambidextrous. You’ll also find a lanyard hole and a mini deep carry clip with a tip-up orientation, all of which are identical to the original.
A New Kind of Grip and Blade
Where things get really interesting is with the handle material and blade material. Gone is the traditional grippy grivory, replaced by smooth-finished burnt brass anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. This angularly shaped handle is accented by a turquoise anodized thumb stud and barrel spacer, giving it a unique look that’s sure to turn heads.
The blade, too, has undergone a significant change. The original Bugout’s CPM-S30V steel has been swapped out for M390 super premium stainless steel, finished with a black DLC battlewash. This hard, corrosion-resistant, and sharpenable steel is a cut above the rest, earning it a spot among the best all-around knife steels.
