Star Wars Outlaws Patch Update Fixing Infamous Punishing Stealth Sections
Star Wars Outlaws Patch 1.1.2 Brings Relief to Punishing Stealth Sequences
Just days after vowing to fix the game’s notoriously punishing stealth sequences, Ubisoft has released a brand-new patch for Star Wars Outlaws, making good on its promise and introducing a host of other features along the way.
Smoother Stealth Experience
While the extent of these initial changes remains unclear, the patch notes hint at tweaks and improvements to certain challenging stealth moments. Additionally, the detection level has been adjusted depending on location, and players are now less likely to be detected while rolling.
Cross-Progression and Cross-Saving Arrive
The 1.1.2 update also introduces support for cross-progression and cross-saving via Ubisoft Connect, making it easier than ever to pick up where you left off on any platform. Other notable additions include:
• PC performance improvements and optimizations
• Crash fixes and stability improvements across all platforms
• Various bug fixes, including a solution for the Hyperspace mission, which should no longer be a barrier to progress
• PS5 players can now unlock the Old School Cool trophy and platinum the game
Patch Details
The 1.1.2 update weighs in at 1.92GB on PS5, 2.25GB on Xbox Series X/S, and 1.89GB on PC. For more information, check out the full patch notes on Ubisoft’s website.
Initial Reception
Unfortunately, Star Wars Outlaws has faced criticism for its stealth mechanics, with some arguing that they’re not on par with other games in the genre. In a recent review, Eurogamer’s Chris Tapsell gave the game two out of five stars, citing its shortcomings in comparison to other series.
• Lack of branching, open stealth like Arkham
• Limited systemic options compared to Dishonored
• No linear polish or charisma like Uncharted
• No animation flow to its platforming like Horizon
• No sheer joy of taking platforming to new heights like Star Wars Jedi
