Baldur’s Gate 3 Breaks Modding Records with 1M+ Installations in Under 24 Hours

Here’s the rewritten content:

Baldur’s Gate 3 has just dropped its highly-anticipated patch 7, and it’s clear that the community is loving it – over 1 million mods have been installed in just under 24 hours since the patch went live on September 5th! According to Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke, “modding is pretty big” indeed.

Just a couple of hours later, ModDB and mod.io founder Scott Reismanis popped up in Vincke’s Twitter mentions to share that, drumroll please, over 3 million installs are ticking over and accelerating. Patch 7 brings with it some exciting new evil endings, the studio’s own Mod Manager, which lets you browse, install, and use community-created mods, and revamped split-screen gameplay.

Check out Vincke’s tweet about the mods: “Modding is pretty big – we had more than a million mods installed in less than 24 hours.”

But what’s next for Baldur’s Gate 3? Well, according to Vincke, their goal is to achieve cross-platform modding support – a feat that’s no easy task, especially given the need to make it work on consoles and PCs. They’ll start with the PC version, followed by the console version after it’s gone through some submission processes.

And speaking of those evil endings… if you’re curious (but maybe don’t want spoilers), Victoria’s got you covered. As for what’s next for Larian Studios, they’re currently working on two new projects that they’re touting as their “best work ever”.
