Mastering Hogwarts’ Quidditch with the Best Brooms for Each Position: A Ultimate Guide for Harry Potter Fans
When I finally got my hands on Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, I knew that broom customization would be a major part of the experience. After all, you’ll be on that broom for nearly the entire match! So, it’s no surprise that each broom has its pros and cons – there’s no one-size-fits-all choice.
To pick the best broom for you, you’ll need to figure out what works best for your playstyle and the positions your characters are playing.
When you first start with Quidditch Champions, you’ll have three default brooms: the Shooting Star, the Cleansweep, and the Comet. There are currently seven other brooms available to unlock, but don’t stress about those – the basics have better stats to start with, so you won’t need the others. At least, not to begin with.
Brooms have three main stat categories: speed, durability, and agility. Each of the three basic brooms excels in two areas and struggles in the third. The Comet has high agility and durability but lacks speed. The Cleansweep has high agility and speed but is fragile. And the Shooting Star has high speed and durability but not much agility.
You can upgrade these brooms using Moonstones, one of the game’s three main currencies. But there’s an opportunity cost involved, as you upgrade each broom separately. If you blow all your Moonstones on the Shooting Star, you won’t have any left for the Comet!
Because of how the brooms are balanced, it’s not ideal to stick with just one. Each of the three main brooms fills a niche. The way each position plays will be the biggest factor, but your playstyle also matters.
For chasers, I think the Shooting Star is the best choice – they need to get downfield quickly. But if you have multiple chasers, it’s not a bad idea to throw in a Cleansweep for a point guard.
For beaters who roam all over, I love the Shooting Star. But if a beater sticks to their own team’s end of the field, a Comet might be better. It’s all pretty subjective – what matters here is choosing a broom with high durability.
As for seekers, the choice is easy: you need the speed and maneuverability of the Cleansweep if you want to catch that snitch before Harry or Draco.
And for the keeper, the Comet is the way to go. Its high agility and durability are essential for hopping between the three goals and for not getting knocked out too easily.
As you play, be sure to upgrade your brooms regularly. You’ll get 15 Moonstones every time you level up, which is basically every match, so you’ll have your gear in great shape quickly.
