Affordable Luxury Watch: Entry-Level Timepiece with High-End Features
It’s safe to say that Tissot has a real winner on their hands with the PRX. I mean, who wouldn’t love a retro integrated bracelet sports watch that’s already an instant favorite? That’s exactly what Tissot introduced back in 2021 with the 40mm quartz model in stainless steel.
Since then, we’ve seen an endless array of PRX variations – smaller versions, automatic versions, chronograph versions, strap versions, gold PVD versions, collaborative versions… you name it. But one thing every PRX has had in common up until now is that they’ve all been made of stainless steel.
Well, that changes today. Tissot has announced the PRX Powermatic 80 in forged carbon, and it’s quieted launched alongside a couple of steel PRXes with gradient dials. But let’s be real, the forged carbon model is the real showstopper here.
The case and dial are both made from forged carbon, which is a composite material commonly used in luxury watches made from strips of carbon fiber forged together with resin. The result is a strong, lightweight material with a black swirled pattern that’s just plain cool.
