Uncover the Secrets of the Mask of Darkness: Prince of Persia’s Lost Crown Story DLC – Shadow of the Simurgh
Way back in March, Ubisoft dropped its roadmap for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and now we’re just a few weeks away from the final content drop – the paid Mask of Darkness story DLC. Set to launch on September 17th, Ubisoft’s finally spilled the beans on what’s in store for players.
The Mask of Darkness introduces a massive new biome, Radjen’s Mind Palace, which promises a fresh batch of traversal elements, traps, enemies, and more. To get in, you’ll need to have made some decent progress in the game, specifically escaping the Depths and acquiring the Shadow of the Simurgh time power.
Radjen’s Mind Palace is a surreal landscape of floating blocks and caverns lit by ghostly flames. You’ll teleport in from a hidden room in Mount Qaf’s Lower City, and things get interesting – Sargon’s stripped of most of his powers, amulets, and items. You’ll be left with just two time powers and will need to get creative to survive.
Expect to face off against new enemies like spider-like mechanical Sentinels, spinning birds with bladed wings, and acrobat dark wraiths. The environment’s got some new tricks up its sleeve too – bumper-style metal orbs, red saw blades, and horizontal pillars that spit out cannonballs.
And then there’s Radjen, one of Persia’s elite Immortals, who you’ll learn more about as you navigate her Mind Palace. It’s going to be a wild ride.
The Mask of Darkness story DLC launches on September 17th for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC (via Steam, the Ubisoft Store, and Epic).
